DADS IN WAITING!

Attention, your current situation does not define you! The circumstance of infertility is merely a moment of your purposeful life. This blog post is to spark your FAITH again! It is meant to help the area of doubt in your life as it relates to this diminish, and lose its weight and hold over you. Unfortunately, what you have been enduring throughout this process is enough to make you feel as if it will never be possible to achieve. There are hundreds of sites that will give you advice on the what to do as you prepare for conception. They will provide you with health tips that are meant to help you eat the right things, have the correct exercises that will increase stamina BLAH BLAH BLAH! Brothers, let us connect and continue to believe that the Promise that God has shown us is still possible.

As you are in your “Waiting Place” use these tips to encourage you and prepare you for what is ahead….FATHERHOOD!

Read Your WORD

Simple huh! I am sure you would not be surprised to hear that having a life of faith is difficult during this time. Yet, my wife and I have found that while the words of those close to us (and those who feel close to us LOL) are encouraging and often times confusing due to their lack of understanding. As believers, we have read the Bible several times before and found it connected to our daily lifestyle, yet it was not until we could not find the appropriate words to fit the holes of our minds and hearts that the Bible became our foundation and our strength.

Create a PRAYER Plan

We pray as children because that is what we are taught to do. We participate in this act believing that it is merely something that ALL believers of Christ should do. The process of prayer will be one of your greatest weapons during this time and beyond. Prayer will become a part of your personal arsenal, aiding in your ability to not only speak to God with accuracy, but more importantly speak with Him in transparency. Your prayer plan will allow for you to be intentional about your thoughts and areas of prayer focus on this journey. Be honest with God, release your frustrations and ask Him to meet you at your place of pain. Create spaces of opportunity for God to deal with the unsaid thoughts that you have been too afraid to handle yourself.

Build Your Council

This is significantly important. Ensure that you have taken time to connect with individuals who care about you holistically. As you and your spouse, begin to discuss the deeper issues of this journey and peel back the layers of your disbelief, you will find that those that you can trust and are neutral in your life can help you both navigate the murky water of infertility. This council of people should consist of layers of individuals who can assist in multiple areas. They should inspire you, hold you accountable and keep you lifted.

Decree & Declare

The word declare comes from the Hebrew achvah, meaning “to make known” or “to set forth an accounting.” It is commonly used by customs agents who ask international travelers, “Do you have anything to declare?” The agents are asking for specifics of what you have, what you are carrying.

As it pertains to us spiritually, declarations are what we speak into the atmosphere, making known what we already have possession of. We can declare our righteousness, our salvation, our eternal victory and our friendship with God.

In the same manner, you can begin to make known your VICTORY over this! You can begin to confess that your healing is not just in the hands of the doctors, yet in the SOVERIGN HANDS OF GOD! Your confession is the greatest. Your FAITH is not just for you to believe, but also for you to speak.

BELIEVE AND WATCH!

Our Focus Scripture is:

Hebrews 11:1 NIV

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

While we were in confusion, uncertainty, financial shock, and ultimate pain, we had to find something to keep us rooted. We find that while the doctors reports where following in, the visits for blood test became old, the pregnancy test continued to come back negative…faith is confidence is what we hope for…” It became our mantra, randomly throughout the day. YOU MUST STAND ON SOMETHING! It is the only way that you won’t fall down.
